April 2nd – CAUTION – MUCH USE OF BAD LANGUAGE

•April 2, 2011 • 2 Comments

Sorry no picture. I’m on a rant.

I am completely dumbfounded and incensed by something that I learned last night. A mother of a 15-year-old girl told me that she buys alcohol for her daughter, because “that’s what the kids do” and “she doesn’t want her to have to bootleg it”. Then I guess she felt to justify it she threw in, “I don’t drink.”  WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM LADY!??? She also went on to tell me that “it’s not the hard stuff” and that she “only gives her 3; no drunkenness, I won’t tolerate drunkenness”. As I said, WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM LADY!!??? So she’s probably buying coolers… which have an alcohol content of up to 6%. I’m a substantially sized woman and 3 would give me a pretty good buzz. How is affecting a 110 lb girl? Hopefully not enough to let her guard and good senses down and hop in the sack with someone.

I’m no prude, I know what goes on out there. But I sure as hell am not going to condone or encourage it. Is she not aware that the legal age for drinking is 19. Oh, and if I ever find out that she’s provided my child with booze …. you fill in the blank. Grow a backbone woman and get your head out of your ass. That’s ludicrous. Friends buy underage kids booze. Parents don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for being my childrens friend, but at this age they already have lots. What they need are strong parents. Stop being your kids friend and start being a responsible parent and good role model.

Unbelievable that I lost sleep over this.

March 20th – SUPER MOON

Wow, it’s been a while! I’ve been busy! Shooting houses, shooting pregnant ladies, shooting babies, preparing over 100 prints to go into the new Woods store in Sunnycrest Mall…. *shameless plug*.

I managed to get out and shoot the moon last night. And wasn’t it spectacular!

February 17th – Last night’s sunset

Aren’t sunsets amazing! No two will EVER be the same! At about 5:10 last evening I decided to head to Bonniebrook to see what Mother Nature was going to produce! And she didn’t disappoint!

February 2nd- And now for something completely different!

I have soo much editing to do. But I have been playing around in photoshop instead. I guess I just needed to be creative rather than serious for a while. Not quite sure what to make of it myself…  It’s different, that’s for sure.

January 28th – Behind again!

•January 28, 2011 • 2 Comments

Oh well. It really doesn’t matter that much. I’ll just post when the image strikes me!

Had to take an emergency trip to the city last night and because I was in a rush to get out the door and make the ferry, I didn’t bring my camera. Now, there have been times when I’ve gone to Vancouver and intentionally left it at home, and it never fails… I always end up saying, “I knew I should have brought my camera!!!”

Last night was one of those times. As we were heading out of the ferry terminal I could see the sky was pink, but as we drove along it turned fushia… it was the most amazing sky I’d seen in a long time. And boy, did I ever say, “I knew I should have brought my camera!!!!!” I did however have my iphone, so that’s all I got. Better than nothing.

What I also find so amazing is that my friend Dan in Seattle had the same sunset….except he had a real camera!  Check out his blog pics by clicking on his link in the side bar to the right.

January 17th – Year in review collage

•January 17, 2011 • Leave a Comment

I purchased this piece of software that creates a collage out of any shape you want, any images you want. I decided to try it out with last years 2010 365 project pictures. Interestingly, I only took 237 images! Oh well, I fell a bit short.

January 15th – Rusty Tub

Last March while we were in Williams Lake visiting Dave’s Mom and sister I spent a lot of time wandering the farm. Over by the cows there was this old clawfoot tub that had been transformed into the cows water trough. Loving old rusty stuff, I took a shot of it. I didn’t think much of it at the time… and only took the one shot. Now 9 months later, and very into black and whites, I’m revisiting images of last year. I think this one looks great as a black andwhite!

January 13th – Bonnie Brook Beach

Another from my series of black and whites. This was shot at sunset and the sun was producing this great orange glow that lit up the trees, the few clouds and that one spot on the beach.

January 12th – Another Roberts Creek Beauty

I’ve been having a great time trying to determine which images are good for black and white. I think I’ve got it down to a science now!

January 11th – Roberts Creek Clouds

I’m never disappointed when I go to Roberts Creek Pier. The view is huge and the cloud formations are always spectacular!
