November 26th – Just Fiddlin’ Around

This is Chelsea’s (Shawna’s fiddle teacher)  five string fiddle. I shot it as part of her album cover/liner photography.

  1. You know, I didn’t know there WAS a five string version…
    awesome shots too!

    • Yep, and here’s a little more info on it straight from Wikipedia…
The Five string violin is a descendant of the traditional four string violin. It consists of a violin-shaped body, neck and pegbox, slightly exaggerated to fit a fifth string.

The usual five string violin combines the strings of the violin (G, D, A, E) and the viola (C, G, D, A) as C, G, D, A, E. Some five string violins are strung: F, C, G, D, A.[citation needed] (Six- and seven-string electric violins also exist, adding lower strings tuned to F and B♭.)
